Juliana Peretti is an incoming freshman at Wesleyan University, where she plans to pursue her passion for film and the arts. A graduate of The Bullis School in Potomac, MD, Juliana has been deeply involved in the world of theater throughout her high school years. As a member of the tech crew for three years, she contributed to eight productions in various roles, including costume design and construction, lighting design, set construction, and operation of both the sound and light boards. She also took two year-long theatrical production and design classes, further honing her technical and design skills. One of her proudest achievements was serving as the costume designer for A Monster Calls, where she deigned every costume and even created the monster costume from scratch. Her experiences on tech crew have fostered a deep love for the collaborative process, and she hopes to continue this work throughout her life.
Juliana's primary passion is film. She has written, directed, produced, and edited three short films and directed one short film. The role of director is central to each project. Her involvement spans from writing and producing to editing, demonstrating her dedication to bringing stories to life from start to finish. Juliana finds film to be a unique platform for creative expression, one that allows her not only to shape what the audience sees but also to craft the narratives that shape their experience.
